The Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation invites the public to a Native American gathering night on Friday, Aug. 19 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Discovery Center, 1580 Cannon Road, Carlsbad. No registration is required and the event is free.

The gathering will focus on the history and culture of the Native Americans who were the first inhabitants of the land around the Agua Hedionda Lagoon. Participants will have the opportunity to experience first-hand Native American storytelling and flute playing. Fun-filled cultural crafts including rock art painting and basket weaving are part of the activities planned for the whole family. A light dinner and snacks will be provided.
