Make a Date to Make a Difference
The City of Carlsbad will host the second Make a Date to Make a Difference (mad2mad) event to encourage members of the millennial generation, generally those born from the early 1980s to the early 2000s, to get involved and give back to their community. The event will be held on Feb. 19 at 6:30 p.m. at 83 Degrees restaurant in Carlsbad and will give participants a chance to learn about volunteer opportunities with city events and activities, as well as with local organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club, San Elijo Conservancy, Wounded Warrior Homes, Taste of Bressi Ranch, Sustainable Surplus, and Move Your Feet Before You Eat.
City of Carlsbad Volunteer Coordinator Sue Irey said, “Mad2mad is a great opportunity for millennials to meet new people, enjoy free appetizers, and find out about great organizations where they can volunteer in the community. We are focusing on one-day volunteer opportunities as a way to invite this generation to continue their commitment to volunteer service.” For more information about the event visit www.meetup.com/mad2mad.
