This year marked the fourth annual charity poker tournament organized by Rob Holzman and members of the La Costa 35 Athletic Club (LC35AC) to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad (BGCC). To recognize his efforts, BGCC recently honored Rob as their “Volunteer of the Year” at the North County Philanthropy Council’s (NCPC) annual Volunteer Awards. When asked about the charity poker event, Rob said, “It is a privilege to lead and collaborate with dedicated volunteers from both LC35AC and the amazing BGCC to create a fundraising event that has raised over $85,000 to date. Working with this outstanding organization so committed to helping families in our community is its own reward, and we are pleased to be able to make a contribution towards their annual $2 million budget.” BGCC CEO Brad Holland added, “We are grateful for the countless hours of his own time Rob gives in order to make the tournament a first-class event!”
